Fulani Herdsmen Attack Communities in Uzo-Uwani Local Government In Enugu State
Many have been reported to have fled from Ukpabi, Nimbo in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State to neighboring communities of Nkpologu and Uvuru as a result of the attack by Fulani herds men early today 25/April/2016.
Police Public Relations Officer, Ebere Amaraizu confirmed this to vanguard News Paper via telephone, he also said that operatives of the Police and, Nigerian army have been deployed to affected areas.
It has also been reported that the people of Nkpulugu, where natives of Ukpabi, Nimbo in Uzo-Uwani had found refuge have also fled their homes for fear of the attacks spreading to their own community.
Several houses including a Catholic Church was said to have been razed to the ground by the herdsmen who were said to have numbered up to 500. We hope the government will stop this menace once and for all and call on all citizens to be ready to defend themselves by whatever means possible, since it seems the government can't control this marauders.
