Welbeck Hangs His Boots For Nine Months


Arsenal have confirmed striker Danny Welbeck will be out for about nine months following surgery he had done on his right knee to resolve ‘significant cartilage damage, after suffering a serious injury to his right knee during the 2-2 draw at Manchester City on Sunday,

The England international was forced off in the first half of Sunday's draw with Manchester City following a coming together with Bacary Sagna, and will now miss Euro 2016. Welbeck’s new setback is also a huge blow for Arsenal, which may prompt manager Arsene Wenger to target attacking reinforcements this summer in an attempt to make up for the loss of the 25-year-old, who had scored five goals in 15 appearance since his return to action.
