New Opportunities For Trans-Genders In Hollywood
According to Deadline, CBS has announced a new series which is soon to begin, it’s an upcoming legal drama for the network. The show will revolve around “a smart, chic, successful defence lawyer at a boutique firm who gets romantically involved with one of her clients, and who may or may not be guilty of a brutal crime.”
The series had started in 2015, but it was not picked up. The network ordered a re-start, enlisting Katherine Heigl and Steven Pasquale as its main stars. It was picked up as a series by CBS. Cox, who was present in both versions of the series, is billed third on the cast behind the two lead characters.
Though not many details are known about Cox’s character, she will be playing a transgender attorney. The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the role was created specifically for a transgender actress.
Cox, is an LGBT advocate, and is known for her role as Sophia Burset in the Netflix hit series Orange and will be Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the upcoming FOX remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
