Liverpool Set To Clash With Barcelona

Liverpool's International Champions Cup clash against Barcelona will be Played at Wembley.

The match will be played on Saturday, August 6 at 5pm under the iconic arch of the national stadium.

Ticket purchase would start from 10am on the 1st of June via Ticketmaster, Prices start from £26 for adults and £15 for juniors.

Charlie Stillitano, chairman of competition organizers Relevant Sports said: “Barcelona and Liverpool are two of the biggest football clubs in the world.

“The ability to have these two powerhouse clubs compete is what the ICC is all about and truly an honour. Bringing these clubs and the ICC to Wembley Stadium is an incredible mark of the growth of tournament in only four years.”

The match against the Spanish giants is Liverpool’s third game in the 10-team tournament, which will see them first tackle Chelsea at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on July 27, before facing Milan three days later at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.

The Reds are also set to engage in training matches with Huddersfield and Tranmere, while an encounter against Jurgen Klopp’s former club Mainz is a possibility.

While most of the club’s recent pre-season tours have had a massive commercial focus, the first under the German will centre around difficult workouts to prime players for the demands of 2016-17.

“Everything you do is based around physical potential and what you do in pre-season is key to that,” Klopp has said.

Andreas Kornmayer will join from Bayern as Liverpool’s head of fitness and conditioning to oversee the intensive workouts, with leading dietician Mona Nemmer also moving to Anfield from the Allianz Arena.
