Adele’s musical success seems to be paying off as she emerged was one of the big winners at the Billboard Music Awards, taking home five awards including the night’s biggest prize, Top Artist. Well, reports now suggest that the “Set Fire to the Rain” singer is negotiating the biggest record deal for a British artist in history.

Adele signing will be the biggest in history for a British musician at a deal of £90m with Sony Music. If true, it will double the singer’s current fortune, which is estimated to be at £85m.

More than the £80m EMI paid to secure Robbie Williams in 2002, and Whitney Houston’s £70m deal with Arista in 2001, Adele’s 90m deal would be the biggest deal for a female artist in history.
